Anthony Leo "Tony" Anderson

Anthony Leo Anderson ,“Tony”, 70, of Washington, D.C., passed away on January 2, 2025 at his residence. Born February 24, 1954, in Leonardtown, MD, he was the son of the late James Leo Anderson and Agnes Lillian Anderson. Tony was the loving spouse of William Agosto with whom he spent 29 years and married on December 25, 2013. He is survived by his sisters, Ruth Ann Gainey and her husband Herb of Mechanicsville, MD and Mary Agnes Wood of Mechanicsville, MD, as well as eight nieces and nephews: Tammy Russell, Craig Anderson, Becky Stallings, Katie Wood, Brad Gainey, Chris Gainey, Andrew Gainey, and David Gainey, their many children, and Patricia Ann Farrell, widow to his brother James William Anderson, who preceded Tony in death. Tony was a 29-year resident of Washington, D.C. who grew up in St. Mary’s County, MD. He graduated from Chopticon High School “Class of 1972” and obtained a baccalaureate from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. He was an IT Specialist who loved music and theater. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where a funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM.
