Antonio Rodney "Tony" Cocimano Jr.

Antonio Rodney Cocimano, Jr., “Tony”, 72, of Lexington Park, MD, formerly of Washington, D.C., passed away on December 20, 2025, at his home. Born on December 20, 1953, in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Annie Marie Cocimano and the late Antonio Rodney Cocimano, Sr. Tony was the loving husband of Patricia Ann Owens Cocimano, whom he married in 1976 in Upper Marlboro, MD. On their 5th wedding anniversary in 1981, marriage vows were renewed at St. Michael’s Church, Ridge, MD. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Jennifer Lynn Kraus of Colonial Beach, VA and Antonio Rodney Cocimano III (Amanda) of Dameron, MD, his brother, Nicholas F. Cocimano of Callaway, MD, and three grandsons Xander, Baylin, and Antonio. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Helen Lettau and Joseph Michael Cocimano. Tony graduated from Suitland High School in 1972 and moved to St. Mary’s County, MD in 1975. Supporting the local community, he was the manager and owner of Ann and Tony’s Store in Ridge, MD for over 25 years. For many years, he proudly took care of Navy families as the Maintenance Supervisor for Lincoln Military Housing NAS Patuxent River, MD. Tony was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. Sharing the heart of a fisherman, he enjoyed family beach trips that included shark tooth hunting, sandcastles, and coffee at sunrise. A devoted fixer of both things and hearts, Tony was the ultimate patriarch whose hands were rarely still and whose wisdom was always available. He held close his dear friends and his beloved family. A tireless husband, father, father-in-law, and Pop Pop, he spent his life ensuring everything and everyone around him was cared for, whether it was a welcomed honey-do list, house or vehicle repair, playing games and building Legos, or mending a broken spirit. His children and grandchildren knew him as their north star; he was the first person they called when problems arose, offering steady guidance and practical solutions with a patient smile. Tony’s legacy is not just in the countless projects he completed, but in the strength and self-reliance he instilled in his family through his endless advice and unwavering support. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 15, 2026, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Lexington Park, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM. Interment will follow at St. Michael’s Catholic Church Cemetery, Ridge, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Antonio Cocimano III, Xander Kraus, Baylin Kraus, and Paul Tennyson. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas Cocimano, Gregory Cocimano, Adrian Kraus, Anthony Kennedy, Tommy Kennedy, and Michael White. Condolences may be made to the family at www.mgfh.com.
