Arthur Alvin Lawrence, 77 years old of Mechanicsville, Maryland passed away suddenly at his home on December 11, 2024. Arthur was born in Leonardtown, Maryland to Francis and Anna Mae Lawrence on December 24. 1946. Arthur is survived by his wife, Doris (“Jane”) Lawrence. His children, Guy (“Monique”) Lawrence – Solomons, Maryland, Bonnie Readmond – Bowling Green, Virginia, Amy Lawrence – Clifton Forge, Virginia, and Thomas (“Erin”) Dempsey – Mechanicsville, Maryland. His siblings Ray (“Tina”) Lawrence – Mechanicsville, Maryland, Jimmy (“Debbie”) Lawrence – Mechanicsville, Maryland, Joseph (Jeanne) Lawrence – La Plata, Maryland, Clara (“Bud”) Thorne – Hartfield, Virginia, Theresa McNey – Mechanicsville, Maryland, Judy (“Jackie”) Murphy – Mechanicsville, Maryland, Sue Carrico – Lusby, Maryland, Predeceased, Al Lawrence, Charles (“Charlie Buck”) Lawrence, Eleanor Lawrence, Mack Lawrence, Mary Ann (“Sissy”) Hall, Diane VanWart, and parents Francis and Anna Mae Lawrence. Also survived by ten grandchildren, Zoe Everly, Raymie Morgan, Lilly Brown, Harley Lawrence, Randy Dempsey, Jorja Dempsey, Bowen Lawrence, Murphy Lawrence, Kiley Lawrence, Lacey Readmond, and one great granddaughter, Elena Everly. Arthur loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, go-cart racing, Nascar, and relaxing in his robe. Arthur liked going to the dirt track and getting breakfast at the Halfway House. He was a wonderful husband and father who will be greatly missed by all. He retired from Capital Meat Company after thirteen years. He loved his job and the people he worked with. The funeral will be held at Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home (41590 Fenwick Street Leonardtown, Maryland 20650), from 9:00-10:00 A.M. Where a Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on December 30, 2024 in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Ammon Ripple officiating. Interment will be private.
