Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Laurel Grove Visitation: Friday, September 2, 2005 from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Arthur Morrison Woodburn, Jr., 77, of Millersville, MD died August 30, 2005 in Millersville, MD. Born May 18, 1928 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Arthur Morrison and Nettie Bond Woodburn, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Clara Woodburn, whom he married on May 26, 1951 in Baltimore, MD. He is also survived by his son, Duane Arthur Woodburn of Millersville, MD and his daughter, Diane Annette Nelka of Loveville, MD and 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Estelle Gisriel and Pauline Bond Shepherd. Mr. Woodburn was a graduate of Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Class of 1946. He served in the U. S. Army from November 14, 1950 to December 14, 1956 where he reached the rank of Sergeant and was a Tank Instructor in the 10th Battalion. He also was employed as a Terminal Foreman for 35 years with Mobil Oil Corporation in Baltimore, MD until his retirement in October 1987. His hobbies included gardening and home improvement projects. The family will receive friends on September 2, 2005 from 9:30 AM â?? 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where a Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM with Reverend Philip Ayers officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Zion United Methodist Cemetery, Laurel Grove.
