A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 20, 2008 at 12:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel with Fr. Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hollywood, MD.
Visitation:
Viewing/Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM.
Barbara “Jean” Hayden, 69, of Hollywood, MD died March 17, 2008 at her residence. Born June 26, 1938 in Hollywood, MD she was the daughter of the late George Willard and Julia Christine Newton Clarke, Sr. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert W. “Toots” Hayden on April 14, 1990. She was the loving mother of Joseph Herbert and his wife Cheryll of Mechanicsville, MD, Brenda Galiton and her husband Spencer of St. George’s Island, MD, Donna Walls and her husband Kevin of Quakertown, PA, Donald B. Gray of Hollywood, MD and son-in-law Daniel Larkin of Hollywood, MD; 7 grandchildren and her sister Nita Herbert of Hollywood, MD. She was also preceded in death by her siblings Ruth Bostic, Ruby Conway, Ann Hope Abell, George Willard Clarke, Jr. and Lambert Clarke. The family will receive friends in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19, 2008 from 5 – 8 PM with prayers being said at 7:00 PM. Interment will follow in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery, Hollywood, MD. Pallbearers will be Robert Clarke Abell, J. B. Abell, Jr., James W. Abell, Sr., Michael Clarke, John Samuel and Randy Abell. Honorary Pallbearers will be Richard Larkin, Andrew Walls, Jessica Herbert, Donald M. Gray, Robert Herbert, Megan Walls and Andrew Mills.
