Barbara Lee Stone ,74, of Hollywood, MD, passed away in Leonardtown, MD on December 8, 2023. Born on September 16, 1949 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mary Helen Greenwell and Joseph Archibald Wood. Barbara was the loving wife of the late Peter Franklin Stone, whom she married on March 18, 1967 in Hollywood, MD, and who preceded her in death on July 20, 2001. Barbara is survived by her children Frankie Stone of Mechanicsville, MD, Franny Stone of Lusby, MD, Janice Sebring (Kenny) of Valley Lee, MD, her siblings Agnes Tinsely of Hollywood, MD and Peggy Goldsborough of Leonardtown, MD, as well as six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother Warren Wood. Barbara was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and attended Leonardtown High School. She was a Cafeteria Chef for MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital from August 17, 1998 to 2017. Barbara enjoyed playing bingo. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Ammon Ripple officiating. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Stone, David Stone, Daniel Sebring, Chucky Thompson, Ray Thompson, and Kyle Wood.
