  6. Joyce (Anderson) Spalding says:

“Dear Wetzel Family: I am so sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing. She was one of the best! She was always so kind and willing to help with anything even though she worked long hours with her job. I will never forget her through all the days at Mother Catherine Spalding School. Losing a Mother is never easy as I lost my Mother (Theresa Anderson – Mrs. Anderson as you all knew her from school) just six months ago September 2013. How great that Father Ron will be serving her Mass. We wanted him for Mom’s but his parish was celebrating an anniversary and he had to do Mass for that. Stay strong for each other and hold all the wonderful memories of your Mother close to your heart. I am keeping all of you in my thoughts and prayers.”

  7. “I know I have sent you many messages on Facebook these last few weeks. But I just wanted to say once again how truly special your mother was to everyone who knew her. I will miss so much conversing with her on Facebook and getting her notes at Christmas. She was so very kind with all of her emails of love and encouragement when Dick was so sick and I appreciated them so very much. But that was Barbara – always there with a friendly smile and an encouraging word. I am so sorry that I can’t make it up to Maryland to pay my respects in person. But please know that you will all be in my thoughts. I wish for each of you the peace that comes with knowing she is in a better place and no longer suffering. I will really miss Barbara and count myself as lucky to have had the pleasure of calling her my friend. Love to all of you – Terri Dickerson”

  8. “You are always in my heart as a friend, a co-worker, a mentor and a christian sister. Love ya. “

  16. Charlene "Charlie" Taylor says:

“Dear Wetzel Family, I first met Barbara when I worked with her in the Emergency Room at Civista. She was such a pleasure to work with and became a special friend. Barbara always thought of others first and never failed to ask how my daughter’s were doing. Even after I moved to AZ, she always send a long Christmas card and kept me up to date about her family. May your memories sustain you at this time and know that many, many people loved Barbara and she will not be forgotten.”

  18. “When your heart is empty, filling it with memories can help you find your smile and if your smile is like your mother’s it is contagious. It is so hard to understand why loved ones are taken from us, but find comfort in knowing that your mother was an “extraordinary person” and you were all loved so much. She is now in her final resting place and entertaining and caring for all those around her and I am sure bragging about her wonderful family! May many happy memories carry you through this sorrowful time. “

I was a teammate of Paul’s on the football team and Mom would be there cheering us all on. Thanks for being who you were and sharing what God commands us to. Your mom was like a second mother to me when Kristina and I attended Mother Catherine Spalding and Chopticon High School. Many nights were spent at your house and your mom treated me just like one of her own kids and welcomed me with open arms. She was an inspiration to all: going to school, working full-time as a nurse, and raising a family on her own. God knew her work was done here on earth and called her home to rest in eternal peace for she has earned her angel’s wings. Cherished memories of your mom will help you get through this most difficult time and relish those moments you shared with her during these past few months.
