Billy Joe Wood

Billy Joe Wood, 72, of California, MD passed away on January 28, 2016 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on October 8, 1943 in Saltville, VA, he as the son of the late Ludie Haskel Wood and Floyd Henderson Wood. Billy was the loving husband of Carol Sue Wood, whom he married on October 5, 1963 in Radford, VA. Billy is survived by his children: Timothy Wood (Tracy) of Hollywood, MD, David Wood (Carrie) of Great Mills, MD, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren. Siblings: Rochell Manshal of Willis, VA, and Floyd Wood of Fairlawn, VA. He was preceded in death by his son James Tate Wood. Billy graduated from Radford High School and from Radford, VA to St. Mary’s County, MD on January 8, 1970. He worked as a carpenter and enjoyed making quilts for cancer patients.
