Carole Marie Dean, “Jessie”, 82, of Suitland, MD, passed away on August 15, 2025, in Bushwood, MD. Born on August 16, 1942, in Suitland, MD, she was the daughter of the late Marquerite Marie Kenney and the late James Frederick Gardner. Jesse was the loving wife of the late Francis Ethelbert Dean, whom she married on November 5, 1960, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bryantown, MD, and who preceded her in death on September 14, 2022. She is survived by her children, Tamara Susan Garner (Steve) of Bushwood, MD, Joseph Eugene Dean (Angie) of Leonardtown, MD, and Richard Allen Dean (Cindy) of Bushwood, MD, her brother, David Eugene Gardner of Portland, Maine, her grandchildren, Stephen Garner II, Samantha Garner, Mark Garner, Jaclyn Bowen, James Dean, Jodi Wright, Richard Dean II, Donovan Dean, Dustin Moran, and Abigail Moran, as well as eight great grandchildren. Jesse was preceded in death by her sons Robert Dean, James Dean, brother, James Frederick Gardner. Jesse graduated from Suitland High School and moved to St. Mary’s County, MD from Suitland, MD in 1960. She had a few professions throughout her life, including driving a school bus for Holy Angels Catholic School, working in the business office at St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as working as a secretary at HASH. In her spare time, Jesse enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, and ceramic pottery. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Stephen Garner, Mark Garner, Richard Dean II, Donovan Dean, Jamie Dean, and JD Lacey. Contributions may be made to the 7th District Rescue Squad. Condolences may be made to the family at www.mgfh.com.   1. My sincere sympathy to the family. Carole and I had a special bond since our Moms were sisters and we lost them when we were young. Lots fun memories growing up and later in life and then Milton and some of our grandsons fishing in the pond.
