Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11:30 AM in St. John's Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD with Fr. Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 3:00 PM. Catherine Regina (Jean) Wible, 85, of Hollywood, MD died at St. Mary's Nursing Center in Leonardtown on August 25, 2006. She married Joseph Bernard (Joe) Wible in 1942 in St. John's Church in Hollywood, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died 13 April 1984, and by her siblings: John Joseph (Cakum) Guy, J. Neary Guy, Robert A. (Buck) Guy, James Warren (Shine) Guy, Charles Louis (Tippy) Guy and Mary Phyllis Smith. She is survived by her children: Joseph F. (Joe) Wible, Sr. of Leonardtown, MD, Patricia Ann (Pat) Harrison of Mesa, AZ, James Warren (Teeny) Wible and Dian Lynn Wible-Stallings both of Hollywood, MD; eight grandchildren, Joe Wible, Jr., Greg Wible, Ben Wible, Chris Harrison, Blake Harrison, Brian Wible, Carla Wible and Steve Wible; and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, Mary Estelle (Doll) Johnson, Emanuel G. (Sugar) Guy, Rosemary Keener, Emily Patricia (Patsy) Downs, Francis Benedict (Frankie) Guy and Margaret Lee (Peggy) Goddard. Jean was born in Loveville, Maryland on 4 April 1921. Her mother, Lucy Estelle Long Guy died when Jean was 3 years old, and her father, James Warren Guy, Sr. married Rosalie Greenwell. There were 5 siblings from the first marriage: (Joseph, Neary, Robert, James and Estelle) and 7 siblings from the second marriage: (Emanuel, Charles, Rosemary, Emily Patricia, Francis, Margaret and Mary Phyllis). Jean was a life long St. Mary's County resident where she worked as a clerk at Rosenberg's Store in Hollywood and at her brother: James W. Guy's grocery stores in Charlotte Hall and Clements. She also worked at the commissary on Base. She was an avid house keeper, she loved to clean houses and liked to maintain her yard with flowers and plantings. She was a "shop until you drop" shopper and her Christmas decorations have been the highlight for many years. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 27, 2006 from 2:00 â?? 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 3:00 PM. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren: Joe Wible, Jr., Ben Wible, Chris Harrison, Steve Wible, Brian Wible and Blake Harrison. Honorary Pallbearers will be her granddaughter: Carla Wible; nephews: Ted Downs and Jeff Guy and family friends: James M. (Jim) Hill, William (Bill) Birney and Joseph (Winks) Pilkerton.
