Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 15 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church at 10 AM with Father Jimmy Downs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Public viewing will be held on Sunday, November 14 in the funeral home from 2 - 5 PM with prayers being said at 3 PM. Charles Llewellyn "Shake" Mattingly, 89, of Leonardtown, MD died November 11, 2004 in Leonardtown, MD. Born February 19, 1915 in Chaptico, MD, he was the son of the late Zachariah and Elaine Johnson Mattingly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes L. Mattingly. He is survived by his children, Gloria A. Mattingly of Meridian, MS, Mary Lou Mattingly of Goldven, VA, Catherine Cohan of Owings, MD, Charles Mattingly of Waldorf, MD and John S. Mattingly of Accokeek, MD. Mr. Mattingly is also survived by his companion, Mildred Kennedy, 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, his brother, Perry Mattingly of Silver Spring, MD and his sisters, Patsy Abell of Owings, MD and Mary Frances Trunnell of Hague, VA. He was preceded in death by his sister, Adele Peretta. Mr. Mattingly worked as an auto mechanic at Lustine Chevrolet for 36 years before his retirement in 1977. He also enjoyed being a member of the Country Music Club. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 14 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home from 2 â?? 5 PM where prayers will be said at 3 PM.
