  37. “So very sorry to hear today the sad news. I worked for Charlie for several years in a financial role in the DatagraphiX Engineering department. He was one of the best leaders I have ever had the honor to work with. I was always so impressed with his ability to remain calm during some very stressful times with the company, and to use his sense of humor to get the best out of everyone. His photographic memory and ability to remember incredible amounts of detailed data was amazing. But mostly I will remember the mischievious smile he would get on his face that reminded me of a little boy whenever he was about to make a joke or funny observation. My sincere sympathies to the Springer family.”

  38. “MaryAnn & Family; I never met an engineer who was able to communicate as well as Charley. My sincere condolences from a long time admirer. “

  40. Bernard (Bernie) Lafreniere says:

“It is with great sadness that I mark Charlie’s passing. I always enjoyed working at Datagraphix and am especially fond of those times when I either worked with, or later, worked for Charlie. He and others at Datagraphix gave me many opportunities to grow technically, managerially and as a person. But most importantly I enjoyed and respected him as a person.”

  41. “I just received an e-mail about Charlie’s passing from someone who worked for me at DataGraphix in the early 80’s. I worked for Charlie there for about 4 years. To be honest, hearing this sad news reminds me of how arrogant and uninformed I was as a young engineer running a small group for Charlie. I thought I knew everything,as well as complained about everything and everyone. Charlie was always disarming, positive, and tolerant of my youthful ignorance. He was always straight and honest in trying to get the best out of me. I don’t know why he put up with me and gave me so much free reign, except perhaps that he was wiser and knew that there was much more than technology and technological arrogance. At the end of 4 years there I even flaked out completely, resulting in the small R&D group disbanding and all work going essentially nowhere. And even then Charlie invited me to brainstorming sessions at his house after Anacomp acquired Datagraphix and Charlie left. I guess you don’t know what you have had until its gone.”

  42. “MaryAnn, Charile was a good and kind man, with a great sense of humor, and someone I always felt I could trust. H gave me my best opportunities, for which I’ll always be grateful. Our love and very best wishes are with you and your family.”

  43. “Mrs.Springer and her family, I’m sadden by the news of passing of Mr.Springer. Such a great and kind man he was. You are in my thoughts and prayer.”

  44. Bonnie Alexander (formerly Berger) says:

“Dear MaryAnn and Family – Extending my sincere condolences on Charlie’s passing. Sending you comfort and peace in your hearts. I always enjoyed working with him at DatagraphiX and it was my pleasure storing his sporty car in my garage while you and he were in the UK. I liked his sense of humor.”

  45. Bill and Joyce Beacom says:

“MaryAnn & Family – we were sorry to hear about the loss of Charlie. Bill worked for Charlie for several years in the Datagraphix International Dept., in England. I sincerely enjoyed working for him. I remember my very first business trip, to Arosa, Switzerland, shortly after arriving in England. As soon as we arrived in Switzerland, Charlie threw me the rental car keys, and said ‘you drive’. Little did I know we were going to go up a steep snowy mountain, in the winter, to a hotel at the top! It was scary, but beautiful. When we got to the top, Charlie said ‘Nice job’. We have many good memories of Charlie and MaryAnn.”

  46. Noble & Mary Tombaugh says:

“Mary Ann & family, Our condolences. We were saddened by the news of Charlie passing. We remember our times together in England and your hospitality. Charlie introducing Noble to oysters in Paris, Venison in Wiesbaden, Satay in Almere Haven and the many wines and beers of Europe. Charlie will always remain in our memories.”

  47. “Maryann, Paul Church informed me of Charlies passing. Please accept my deepest sympath. I only meet Charlie a few times, firstly in 1994 when he visited me at my office in Cardiff, UK. I had only then been in the IT business a few months. Charlie introduced me to some great contacts and over the years we did some good business together. I was always encouraged by Charllie’s bright and cheery attitude, always a smile on his face. Even though it had been some years since I had talked with him,I ofetn thought of him, he was a good man and I am sorry for your loss Kind thoughts and regards Ian “
