Charles Steven "Steve" Bowles, Sr.

Charles Steven “Steve” Bowles, Sr., 70, of Leonardtown, MD passed away on November 9, 2016 in Callaway, MD. Born on February 28, 1946 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Eleanor E. Bowles and James E. Bowles. Steve is survived by his children: Charles S. Bowles, Jr. of Chaptico, MD, Daniel L. Bowles (Lisa) of Mechanicsville, MD, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. Siblings: Margaret Buckler, Nora Quesenberry, Patricia Wathen (Joe), Mary Tabler (Les), and Tina Williams (Jimmy). He was preceded in death by his son; Joseph Allen Bowles, and brother Joseph Aloysius Bowles. Steve as a lifelong resident of St. Mary’s County, MD resident and worked on his farm growing tobacco. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 14, 2016 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Deacon Bill Kyte officiating. Interment will follow in St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be: Mike Joy, David Hammaker, Kevin Lathroum, Dale Buckler, Ray Copsey, and Gene Wathen.
