A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. George Catholic Church Valley Lee, MD with Father Paul Nguyen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Christine “Chrissy” Simms Gardiner, 43 of Drayden, MD passed away on January 24, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital. Born on November 21, 1970, in Leonardtown, MD, she was the loving daughter of John J. Simms, III, and Sheila Ann Simms both of Drayden, MD. Christine was the loving wife of Douglas T. Gardiner, III, whom she married on February 13, 1993 in Valley Lee, MD. Christine is survived by her children; Sarah K and Allison M. Gardiner both of Drayden, MD, and brother John J. "Jack" Simms, IV of Forest Hill, MD. Christine is survived by her Nieces and Nephews; Abigail I. Simms and Victoria A. Simms both of Forest Hill, MD, Tyler J. Gardiner, Brooke E. Gardiner and Shelby N. Gardiner all of Salisbury, MD, Meagan L. Gardiner, and Mallory L. Gardiner both of Corinth, TX, Mother in law Nancy R. Gardiner of Ocean City, MD, Sisters in law Susan Gardiner of Corinth, TX, Kristen Simms of Forest Hill, MD, Cindy Gardiner of Salisbury, MD, and brother in law James Gardiner of Salisbury, MD. Christine graduated from St. Mary’s Ryken High School in 1988, and graduated from Potomac State College in 1991 with an Associates Arts Degree. She was a lifelong St. Mary’s County resident, and was President of Simms Insurance Agency for 23 years. Christine enjoyed horseback riding, boating, and watching Sarah and Ally play sports.

All she was, was because you taught her what life could be and she grabbed the golden ring and ran with it! My heart breaks for all of you! Doug you will miss your beautiful wife but every time you look at your beautiful daughters you will see her smile, hear her laugh or feel the love that you have shared for the last 20 years! Sarah and Alli always feel your moms love riding on your shoulder! She will always be in your heart and will be there at every turn in your life! She loved both of you more than the air she needed to live! Jack you are the medicine your mom and dad will need in the months to come!
