Clara “Anne” Wathen, 67, of Leonardtown, MD formerly of Bushwood, MD, passed away on August 8, 2017 in Clinton, MD. Born on December 24, 1949 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of Agnes Marie Wathen and the late John Hayden Wathen. Anne is survived by her siblings; Marie Urbanski (Mark) of California, MD, Mary Norris (Allan) of Clements, MD, sister in law Liz Wathen of Morganza, MD 5 nieces, 2 nephews, 7 great nieces and 8 great nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother John Francis Wathen. She was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident. Anne enjoyed embroidery, playing bingo, scratch off tickets, and watching game shows. As well as watching the Washington Redskins, Baltimore Orioles and most of all she loved Elvis. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 5:00 PM -8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart Catholic Church Bushwood, MD with Father Anthony Lickteig officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jeff Wathen, Steven Norris, Mark Urbanski, Ronnie Trossbach, Josh Trossbach, and William “Bill” Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers will be; Kristie Guy, Joanne Douglas, Tammy Zabko, Nikki Wesner and Megan Hall. Contributions may be made to the Leonardtown Vol. Rescue Squad P.O. Box 299 Leonardtown, MD 20650 and Seventh Dist. Vol. Rescue Squad P.O. Box 7 Avenue, MD 20609.
