Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Eamon Dignan officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD where prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. Curtis Andrew “Curt” Leymeister, 47 of Hollywood, MD and formerly of Benedict and Forest Heights, MD, was born on February 10, 1962 at Malcom Grow Medical Center on Andrews AFB to Phyllis Leymeister of Hollywood, MD and the late Harry Leymeister. He is also survived by his children Holly Leymeister of Suitland, MD, Curtis Leymeister, II of Prince Frederick, MD and Kristin Leymeister of Hedgesville, WV as well as three grandchildren and his siblings; Thomas Leymeister of Newburg, MD, Brenda Stotlemyer of Hollywood, MD, Bruce Leymeister of Hollywood, MD and Hal Leymeister of Beltsville, MD. Curt was a graduate of Oxon-Hill High School “Class of 1980” and was a former print shop supervisor for Prince George’s County Government for 20 years. He enjoyed bicycling, fishing, crabbing, camping and being the family photographer. He was a NASCAR, Redskins and Orioles fan and loved listening to the Rolling Stones’ music. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 10:00 AM in St. John’s Regis Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD with Fr. Eamon Dignon officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown MD. Pallbearers will be Curtis Leymeister, II, Tom Leymeister, Ken Stotlemyer, Hal Leymeister, Bruce Leymeister, Jr. and his God-son Steven Leymeister. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 415 N. Charles Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

I had known him from our elementary years at Forest Heights, junior high years at John Hanson and our high school years at OHHS. I would even see him from time to time at the chapel center on Bolling Air Force Base during mass. He was always so kind and willing to share a smile or a laugh with everyone.
