Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown,MD. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown. MD. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. Daphne Myrtle Cage, 74, of Lusby, MD formerly from St. Mary's County, MD passed away on January 12, 2014 in Prince Frederick, MD. Born on December 3, 1939, she was the loving daughter of the late Daisy and Allan Whitehead. She was the loving wife of the late Marshall J. Cage. Daphne is survived by her children; Allan Hamill (Beth) of La Plata, MD, Robin Hamill and Darryl Cage both of Lusby, MD, Shaun Hamill of Edgewater, MD, Francis Cage (Stacy) of Mechanicsville, MD, Marsha Watson (Patrick) of Nanjemoy, MD, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild. Siblings; Sheila Fenty and Thelma Whitehead both of Barbados, WI, and Germaine Goodman of Salisbury, MD. She was preceded in death by her sister Nancy Zamore of Hollywood, FL. Daphne moved from St. Mary’s County, MD to Calverty County, MD in 2001. She enjoyed raising plants, flowers, was an avid reader, loved to cook and spending time with family. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dan Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers; Allan Hamill, Shaun Hamill, Francis Cage, Darryl Cage, Christopher Paul, Aaron Cage and Alec Hamill. Honorary Pallbearer Joseph Cage.
