Services: All Services will be private. David Andrew Young, 66, of Hollywood, MD, passed away of lung cancer on July 20, 2014, at the Hospice House of St. Mary’s County surrounded by his loving and devoted wife and daughters. David was an esteemed and valued employee of Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant for 26 years. Born native of Saskatchewan, Canada, David joined the U.S. Air Force in 1967 as an aircraft mechanic and electrical engineer, serving in New Mexico and Germany, and was proud to have become a naturalized citizen of the United States in 1985. David was a lover of travel, fine-dining, leather-working, woodworking, genealogy, music, military history, and dogs. He loved spending time with his family at his lake house retreat in Pennsylvania, playing cards and hosting friends. A wine aficionado, David enjoyed touring wineries in Europe and South Africa. A generous and kind man, he was always willing to help his family and friends with any problem. He was a reliable, hard-working, and considerate man, who took great pride in his Scottish heritage. Many people come and go in our lives, but very few make a worthwhile, memorable impression, like David. His intelligent witty banter and amazing sense of humor will be sorely missed.
