  1. “This is very saddening news. Dennis was one of our Navy Knowledge Online (NKO) Website most trusted Administrators and he was a phone friend as I would say. He called our office at least 2-3 times a week. He will be missed. My heart-felt condolences to his family, May God bless you all during these trying times.”

  2. “Our prayers are with you in this difficult time.”

  3. “My sincere condolences to Dennis’ family. I was his Director at NMMPTE when he was first hired. He brought a unique perspective to his work and went above and beyond to help his customers. My prayers are for your strength as you go through these difficult days. All my best, Chris.”

  4. “God’s blessings on the family of Dennis. “

  5. “Thoughts and prayers to the Bank’s family for their recent loss. “

  6. “Our group will miss him greatly. No one can understand why his mortal body had to give up so soon. He had embraced the Dragon Boat sport, he was always suggesting or offering ways to improve the club’s ability to win a gold medal. His spirit will inspire us to achieve the highest goal every time we race! We had a great times with him and was happy to have known him. “

  7. “Holly, My thoughts and prayers are with you as you deal with the loss of your father.”

  8. “May happy memories lighten your sadness and know that you now have your own guardian angel watching over you.”

  9. “On behalf of the Shenandoah Valley British Car Club I would like to extend our condolences to Dennis’s family. We were so sorry to hear about his passing.”

  10. “I worked with Dennis and when I first met him, I could have sworn he looked like a retired Captain from the Public Health Service so I pretty much called him Captain, Public Health. He would just smile!!!!!! He was GREAT people and added to the command. He was great as he was like his own Research and Development department as he worked to continually improve on the processes that he worked. I enjoyed seeing the NASA stuff that he brought to include a light from the Apollo Lunar Module, Lunar Excursion Module or LEM. He has worked on some amazing projects outside of Navy Medicine that many could only dream of. He is the ONLY person that I have ever met that made toast with a lamp!!!! That is a story in itself and I am glad that we never had to call the fire department. You will be missed Dennis .”

  11. “The extended Naval Education & Training Command and fellow Knowledge Management practitioners send our thoughts and prayers to the family members of Dennis Banks. Dennis will be missed and his genuine contributions to improve the lives of sailors will be difficult to replace.”

  12. Dan Greenwell, St. John Francis Regis Knights of Columbus says:

“Dennis helped me with our Tootsie Roll Drive where the proceeds benefited the students at the Center for Life Enrichment in Hollywood, MD. He chaired this activity the following year. Dennis did a good job both years. This was a great help to these students and to his community. “

  13. “Christine and Family- I’m still numb from having learned (today – Tues.)of Dennis’ passing. I’m so very sorry I did not get to see you all at his service. As his dentist for 10-plus years, I was always impressed with his curiosity and genuine interest in our profession. His “attention to detail” made many believe he was formerly an illustrious Naval Officer – even a dentist! I would frequently receive e-mails about dental research items that he felt the need to pass along. My staff extends their heart-felt condolences to all of you. Your Dad was a wonderful guy.”

  14. ” My sincere regrets to the Banks family. I had the wonderful privilege of working with Dennis and Richard during my tour at NMETC. I am truly sorry for your loss. God Bless You. CDR Michael Kohler CDR Michael Kohler”

  15. “The Roslyn High School Class of 1960 50th Reunion Committee is shocked to hear of Dennis’s sudden death. Dennis was one of the classmates we so looked forward to seeing again. Our thoughts are with you at this time.”
