Donald Anthony Pilkerton

Donald Anthony Pilkerton, “Dinkles”, “The Mayor”, 65, of Leonardtown, MD, formerly of Mechanicsville, MD, passed away on December 11, 2023 in Clinton, MD. Born on February 25, 1958, he was the son of the late Rita Virginia Pilkerton and the late Charles Francis Pilkerton. Donald is survived by his siblings, Charles F. Pilkerton, Jr. of Hughesville, MD and Delores Gardiner of Hughesville, MD. In addition to his parents, was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Allen Pilkerton. Donald graduated from Chopticon High School in 1976, and was a truck driver for Burch & Wise in Mechanicsville, MD. He enjoyed his nieces and nephews and his dog, Porchy, who was an important part of his life, and all of his friends at Cedar Lane. Special thanks to Denise Raley for the care she gave Donald while he was living at Cedar Lane. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 22, 2023 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD, where a funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Ammon Ripple officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf, MD. Serving as pallbearers will be Kevin Gardiner, Jeffrey Gardiner, Ashleigh Gardiner, Timmy Gardiner, Alex Mudd, Mason Mudd, Allen Gardiner, and Roscoe Kreps. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.. Arrangements provided by the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, P.A., Leonardtown, MD.
