Dorothy Ann Putman Bailey

Duff was like a Big Sister when I was a kid. We were next-door neighbors on Lee Place in Frederick in houses that our fathers had rented and later purchased from their father, Lewis W. Putman. Duff’s younger brother, Ralph, was about my age and she broke up more than a few “disagreements” between us as we reluctantly grew up. When she went off to college and then to teaching, we sort of lost track, but caught up easily a few times. I’m sad that we haven’t been closer in recent years, but we talked by phone many times. The loss of Phil, and then Michael was very hard for her. I will truly miss her—may she rest in peace in the arms of her Heavenly Father. jim putman
