Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 8, 2005 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father John Dakis officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Public Viewing & Visitation will be held on Friday, October 7, 2005 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM Douglas MacArthur "Doug" Sullivan, 64, of Leonardtown, MD formerly of Suitland, MD died October 4, 2005 in Leonardtown, MD. Born January 26, 1941 in Washington, DC he was the son of the late Joseph F. and Lillian J. Knowton Sullivan. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Sullivan on October 15, 2002 in Leonardtown, MD. He is survived by his children: Diane Bissett of Leonardtown, MD and Ronald Gregory of St. Cloud, FL; brothers and sisters: Marie Goode-Spencer of GTMO, Cuba, Barbara Tilson of East Lansing, MI, Cornelius Sullivan and James Sullivan both of Indian Head, MD and 5 grandchildren. Mr. Sullivan attended Lackey High School. He moved to St. Mary's County from Suitland, MD in 1987. He worked for the U.S. Government at the Naval Medical Clinic, Patuxent River, MD for 25 years until his retirement in September 1999. He was also employed by St. Mary's Hospital in the environmental services and housekeeping departments for the last 8 years. His hobbies were antique cars, boating, fishing, music, dancing and pets. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 7, 2005 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Michael A. Goode, Ronald Gregory, Cornelius Sullivan, Tommy Sullivan, Ronnie Gass and John Douglas. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Lee, Jimmy Sullivan and Chris Bissett. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or American Cancer Society, St. Mary's County Unit, P.O. Box 1032, Lexington Park, MD 20653.

  1. “i love you grandpa, i miss the way you would tell me that you love me and you would take us to church and afterwards you would bring us to mc.donalds and let us play in the play pin and you always got me the chicken nugget happy meal and you would always have candy and give me and bub and aron a sweet brisk tea out of the machine. mommy misses you too, it tears all of us apart still to this day. papa i love you with all my heart. i’ll be seeing you soon i hope. i miss you and grandma :'(“
