Elizabeth Angelica Hebb

January 21, 1931 ~ April 20, 2026

Betty Hebb, age 95, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 20,2026. She was a long-time resident of Asbury in Solomons, Maryland. She was born Elizabeth Angelica Hebb on January 21, 1931, at home in Hollywood, Maryland to George Alexander and Rose Leoma Hebb. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1948 and moved to Washington, DC with her sister Rose Marie to begin her career as a commercial artist. She worked in the Washington Post Arts Department and enjoyed a long career as an Illustrator and Graphic Artist at the National Institutes of Health.

Betty is survived by her sister Lorraine Penland of Salisbury, Maryland and brother-in-law Jim Hodges of California, Maryland. Additionally, she is survived by 10 loving nieces and nephews, 9 great nephews and nieces and 4 great-great nephews and nieces. She was pre-deceased by her parents and sisters Rose Marie Williams of Potomac Maryland and Mary Lee Hodges of Hollywood, Maryland, her brothers-in-law Tom Williams and Carl Penland and her great-nephew Kevin Curran.

Betty was a true renaissance woman who carved her own way and embraced many adventures especially with her family. She was deeply loved and leaves behind many wonderful memories.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 2, 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM in St. John’s Catholic Church, Hollywood, MD. Where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 AM with Rev. Ray Schmidt officating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
