Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM in St. John’s Catholic Church Hollywood, MD with Father Ray Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. Elizabeth Ann Kolwey age 77 of Hollywood, MD passed away on July 28th, 2014 after a twenty year battle with Parkinson’s disease at the Hospice House in Callaway, MD. Betty Ann was born to Jim and Elizabeth (Greaser) Miller on November 4, 1936 in Kingwood, WV. Her mother died when she was two, and her father later remarried Anna (Loss) when Betty Ann was eight. Anna lovingly raised her thereafter. Betty Ann worked at the 1st National Bank in Morgantown, WV where she met Herman Kolwey. They were married on August 11, 1963 in Howesville, WV and moved to Lexington Park, MD. They recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in August of 2013. Betty Ann is survived by her husband, Herman, son Jimmy (Cindy) Kolwey, and daughter Sandy (Dave) Adams all of Hollywood, MD. Her grandchildren Daniel Kolwey, Catie Kolwey and Sam Adams. She is also survived by her sisters Ginger (Charles) Shaw of Burke, VA and Chris (Frenchy) Choquette of Ramona, CA. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by a sister and brother-in-law, Tillie and John Buric, of Gaithersburg, MD. Betty Ann enjoyed spoiling her grandkids, square dancing, camping trips, painting, decoupage and arts & crafts. She was a member of the Craft Guild working at Cecil’s Old Mill and the Christmas Country Store. She also worked at Doug’s Hobby shop and went on to be an Owner/Operator of The Hobby Stop. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 1, 2014 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited by Father Keith Woods at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD.
