Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, January 20, 2006, at 9:30 AM in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Father Peter Alliata officiating. Interment will follow in Maryland Veteran's Cemetery. Visitation: Public viewing and visitation will be held on Thursday, January 19, 2006, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. Ernestine "Nee" Malpasso, 85, of Leonardtown, MD formerly of Mechanicsville, MD died January 13, 2006 in Waldorf Health Care Center. Born November 7, 1920 in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of the late Salomon and Avrea Irizarry. She was the loving wife of Anthony N. Malpasso whom she married in St. Paul's Church, Brooklyn, NY in 1950. She is survived by her sons: Anthony C. Malpasso of Waldorf, MD and Brian K. Malpasso of La Plata, MD; siblings: Jose A. Irizarry of Puerto Rico, Piedra Irizarry and Nylka Mendoza of NY; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister: Helen Irizarry. Mrs. Malpasso moved to St. Mary's County in 1988 from Charles County. She worked as a production specialist for Direct Mail Distributing Co. for 20 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary of California, MD. The family will receive friends Thursday, January 19, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. Interment will follow in Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD at 11:00 AM. Pallbearers will be Anthony C. Malpasso, Anthony W. Malpasso, Michael Malpasso and Vincent Malpasso.
