Francis Marie Hilburn, 89 of Lexington Park, MD formerly of Piney Point, MD, passed away on December 20, 2018 in Fairfax, VA. Born July 16, 1929 in Piney Point, MD, she was the daughter of the late Lucy Myrtle Lumpkins and Charles Edward Lumpkins. Francis was the loving wife of Floyd Murl Hilburn who she married on May 2, 1950 in Leonardtown, MD. She is survived by her children: Sharon M. Hyde of Lorton, VA, John Hyde of Lorton, VA, Dawn L. Jones of Ashburn, VA, Floyd M. Hilburn, Jr. of Lexington Park, MD, Yan W. Hilburn of Lexington Park, MD, Kirk S. Hilburn of Bel Alton, MD, Tammy Hilburn of Bel Alton, MD and Kevin B. Hilburn of Manassas, VA, 3 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Francis was preceded in death by her brothers: Benjamin Franklin Lumpkins and Joseph Grey Lumpkins. Francis graduated from Great Mills High school in 1947, she was a homemaker. The family will receive friends on Friday December 28, 2018 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where a Funeral Service held at 11:00AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Anne Lumpkins officiating. Interment will follow in St. George’s Episcopal Cemetery, Valley Lee, MD.Pallbearers will be: Jarret Hilburn, Keith Lumpkins, Kyle Lumpkins, Chris Goddard and Greg Milne. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
