A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 10:00 AM in St. John's Catholic Church with Fr. Burch officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
Viewing/Visitation will be held on Monday, August 28, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM.
Francis Webster Tippett, 84, of Clover Hill Farm, Hollywood, MD died August 23, 2006 in Washington Hospital Center. Born September 2, 1921 of Maddox, MD he was the son of the late George William and Elizabeth Cecelia Morgan Tippett, Sr. He was the loving husband of Mary Louise Tippett whom he married February 7, 1950 in St. John's Catholic Church in Hollywood, MD. He is survived by his children: Francis Leonard Tippett, Joseph Michael Tippett, and Laura Frances Bean all of Hollywood, MD; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sister: Thomas Albert Tippett, John Walter Tippett, Mary Eva Higgs, George William Tippett, Jr., John Clements Tippett and Joseph Daniel Tippett. Mr. Tippett was a life long St. Mary's County resident, where he was a life time member of the St. Mary's County Farm Bureau. He was also a member of the Civilian Conservation Corps from April 1938 to March 1940, which was set up during the depression to give young unemployed and single men employment and training in reforestation and road construction. Webster enjoyed raising crops and animals and watching them grow was his life. The family will receive friends Monday, August 28, 2006, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home with Prayers being said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at 10:00AM at St. Johns Catholic Church with Fr. Frank Burch & Deacon Koeniger officiating with Fr. Raymond Schmidt co-officiating and a reading by Ms. Hannah Koeniger. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Mike Tippett, Leonard Tippett, Ernie Bean, Wayne Bean, Alvin Tippett and Timmy Abell.Contributionsmay be made: Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O.
