Francis Wilmer Johnson, Sr. (Bootsie), 75 of Mechanicsville, MD formerly from Loveville, MD passed away on June 12, 2016 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on October 10, 1940, he was the son of the late Queenie Mae Bowles Johnson, and John Norman Johnson, Francis was preceded in death by Minnie and Raymond Wathen, who actually raised him. Francis was the husband of the late Bernardine Johnson, whom he married on May 20, 1967 and preceded him in death on October 21, 2013. He is survived by his son: Francis Johnson, Jr. (Diana) of Mechanicsville, MD, grandson Dillon Banis, Siblings: Charles Johnson, Bobby Johnson and Albert Johnson. He was preceded in death by his daughter Bernardine Johnson of Mechanicsville, MD, siblings: Joseph Johnson, Alison Johnson, and Johnny Johnson. He was a lifelong St. Mary’s County, MD resident and worked as an Electrician for St. Mary’s County Government. Bootsie was a member of the Equestrian Association. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Wayside Catholic Church Chaptico, MD with Father Charles Gallagher officiating. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery Morganza, MD. Pallbearers will be: Gary Butler, John Miedzinksi, Derrick Barnes, Robert Foster, Mike Gardner, and Joe Echino. Honorary Pallbearer will be Mike Barbour.

  4. Dear Family, Boostie and I are first cousins we were raised together on Popa Bowles Farm in Loveville eralso went to school together and played together when we were kids. He and I were had a many good time together so that we did stay in tounch in the later years. Somy dear friends and cousin may you rest in armsof the Good Lord now your work on earth is done so long for now.
