Genevieve Delores Queen, 69, of Leonardtown, MD died January 1, 2006 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born April 16, 1936 in Helen, MD she was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Butler and Agnes B. Queen. She is survived by her children Brenda Queen, Charlene Miles and her husband Clarence (Pine), Claudia Queen and Agnes (Dina) Plater and her husband Timothy all of Leonardtown, MD, and Claude Queen of Lexington Park, MD; and sisters Catherine M. Somerville of Washington, D.C., Mary C. Caldwell of San Diego, CA, and Dorothy A. Blackwell of Piney Point, MD; and son-in-law Louis Forbes, Jr.; 7 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her children Darlene Queen and Mildred Forbes. Mrs. Queen was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident where she was a graduate of Banneker High School, Class of 1954. She was employed as a cook and dietary aide for Bailey's Restaurant and St. Mary's Nursing Center for fifty years until retiring December 31, 1998. She enjoyed family gatherings, talking to her sisters, going to casinos, doing puzzle books and attending Gospel shows. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 6, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 7, 2006 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church with Father John Dakes officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Anthony Queen, Joseph Queen, Maurice Queen, Wayne Blackwell, Daryl Blackwell, and James Brooks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deshawn Plater, Claude Queen, Jr., Robert Blackwell, Geryl Blackwell, Marvin Blackwell, Glen Somerville, George Murray, Ray Caldwell and James Blackwell.
