Services:
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in St. George Catholic Church, Valley Lee, MD with Msgr. Karl Chimiak officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation:
Public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 5 - 8 PM with prayers being said at 6:00 PM.
Henry Francis Boothe, 89, of Drayden, MD died November 22, 2007 at his residence. Born October 4, 1918 in Drayden, MD he was the son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Hammett Boothe. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Regina Boothe on June 6, 2003 and whom he married on December 26, 1940 in St. George Catholic Church. He is survived by his children: Billy Boothe and Cathy Koegel both of Valley Lee, MD, Henry R. Boothe, Stanley Boothe and Frank Boothe all of Drayden, MD; his sister: Sister Mary Rose of Sisters of St. Joseph, Hartford, CT; 17 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He was also preceded in death by his son Tommy Boothe; his siblings: Mary Agnes Grover, Margaret Hodges, Rose Cecil, Henrietta Adams, David Boothe, Joseph Boothe, John Boothe and Gregory Boothe. Mr. Boothe was a lifelong St. Mary’s County resident where he attended Little Flower School. He worked as a farmer for Harry Lundeberg School, Piney Point, MD for 16 years until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the St. Mary’s Farm Bureau. The family will receive friends on Monday, November 26, 2007 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 6:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at 11:00 AM in St. George Catholic Church with Msgr. Karl Chimiak officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: T.J. Boothe, Wayne Boothe, Kevin Boothe, Brian Boothe, Ricky Boothe and Kenny Boothe. Honorary Pallbearers will be Patrick Boothe and Johnny Adams. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or 2nd District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1, Valley Lee, MD 20692.
