James Carroll "Jim" Clay

James Carroll Clay, “Jim”, 80, of Lexington Park, MD, passed away on August 3, 2022 in Leonardtown, MD. Born on February 10, 1942 in Mark Tree, AR, he was the son of the late Alice Marie Erwin and the late Henry Carroll Clay. At the time of Jim’s death, he was survived by his wife, Bernice L. Clay, whom he married on May 26, 1967 in Escambia County, FL, and who passed away on August 16, 2022. He is survived by his son James “Scott” Clay and his grandson Noah Scott Clay, both of California, MD. Jim was preceded in death by his siblings Gordon Clay, Doris Ann Radloff, Shirley F. Clay, and “Suzzie” Brenda Sue Michael. Jim moved to St. Mary’s County, MD in July 1989. He served in the U.S. Navy for 32 years, from November 24, 1959 to March 31, 1991. Jim belonged to the Freemason Morlite Lodge #105 F & AM, Puerto Rico. All services will be private.
