  43. “Patsy, Rodney, Wood & Dean families: What a horrible shock to learn of the death of Danny, and the cause. When death comes w/o warning, the disbelief and shock can be devasting, especially when a child dies before his parents. Lots of parents are overridden with guilt about what might have been done to prevent the death and the what if’s and if only’s are only normal, but eventually, the need to blame oneself will move on to a level of acceptance that many tragedies in life are not preventable or foreseeable. While complete recovery from losing a child is a myth, the healing process slowly changes the intense pain to warm memories and I’m sure that you have plenty of them, We cherish our memories of all the Thanksgiving/Christmas/Easter gatherings at Gene & Karen’s house, in which Danny was always there. Hopefully before too long you will have a commitment to lead a life that would make Danny proud. The love that you all shared will always remain. He will live forever in your hearts, and also of his friends. We are so sorry that we no longer live in St. Mary’s County and will be unable to attend any of the services for Danny, but the Wood family, and Dean family will be in our thoughts and prayers, May God bless each of you. With love, Doris & Skip Jones”
