Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 21, 2004 at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 28297 Old Village Road, Mechanicsville, MD with Fr. Paul Gozaloff officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Helen, MD. Visitation: Public Visitation will be in the funeral home on Thursday, May 20, 2004 from 4 - 8 PM with prayers being held at 7:00 PM. James Harold "Q" Quade, 61, of Mechanicsville, MD, died May 18, 2004 in Mechanicsville, MD. Born March 25, 1943 in Mechanicsville, MD he was the son of the late Catherine C. and William Raymond Quade, Sr. He was the loving husband of Jean Carolyn Quade whom he married August 24, 1963 in Bushwood, MD. He was the devoted father of Melinda Armsworthy and her husband Scott of California, MD. He was the brother of Mary Ellen Rucks of Okeechobee, FL, Frances Holyoak, Catherine Mattingly, Raymond Quade and Matthew Quade of Mechanicsville, MD, Barbara Wilson and Sharon Risling of Hollywood, MD. He was also survived by one grandchild; Allison Michelle. Mr. Quade was a lifelong St. Mary's County resident who graduated from Margaret Brent High School in 1961. He was an Electrical Foreman for the Architect of the Capital in Washington, DC for 35 years until his retirement on October 1, 1999. Mr. Quade belonged to the Mechanicsville Lions Club and enjoyed golfing, fishing, woodworking, photography and spending time with family and friends. The family received friends Thursday, May 20, 2004 in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, May 21, 2004 at 11:00 AM in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Mechanicsville, MD with Msgr. Paul Gozaloff officiating. Interment will follow in Queen of Peace Cemetery, Helen, MD. Pallbearers for Mr. Quade will be Billy Mattingly, Bubby Norris, Jimmy Greenwell, Ronnie Cook, Dr. John Roache and Brian Hektoen. Honorary Pallbearers will be his nieces, nephews and special friends. Contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or Mechanicsville Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 15, Mechanicsville, MD 20659.
