I am so sad that something so tragic happened to such an amazing person. I met Mike when I volunteered at St. Marys Nursing Center and later worked there with him. I’ll never forget how talented he was when it came to decorating the courtyard for Christmas. It looked so magical! He was also so friendly and kind. There was never a time he didn’t go out of his way to ask me How I was doing and give me a tight hug. He had the sweetest Seventh District accent! Mike will truly be missed by so many. I know he definitely made an impact on so many lives. God must have needed another Angel around the thrown. Your love lives on inside of us all Mike. Rest in Peace my Friend. Prayers for Mike’s Mother and all of his Family.

Mrs. Hayden and family,
I have no words at all to describe the loss that the entire community is experiencing but most of all his beloved family. Mike dedicated nearly 40 years working at SMNC, plus the farmers market so he knew everyone. Mike never met a stranger! As you know, I loved him dearly and this loss has shocked all of us. What I know to be fact is that I am a better person because of his love and example for all of us. I strive each day to love others in the pure way that Mike did. He had a kind word and hug for everyone! I know that he went straight to heaven and was greeted by his beloved family and friends. I know I will see him again and he will remain in the hearts of many in Southern Maryland!
Much love to all of you,
Sharon Nicholson
Saint Michael – the Archangel is a revered figure, known as a warrior angel and protector of the Church and God’s people, often depicted battling against evil and Satan. Mike’s legacy will forever be enshrined in our hearts.
Extremely sorry to hear the horrible news about Mike. Words cannot say the deep heartfelt sympathy we have for the family. This is a needless tragedy that never should have happened.
Mike and I knew each other since his mother was married to my grandfather. He was kind and we spoke many times. Although not mentioned, he had ten step siblings by my grandfather and actually spoke to many of them. We sincerely offer our condolences to Agnes. May Mike rest in peace.
The Karustis family sends sincere condolences, and heartfelt compassion to all of Mike’s loved ones. He is now returned to the arms of our Lord. We will continue to pray for Mike’s soul, as well as for family & friends, that all even in these painful days they may feel the comfort and peace of Christ. Rest in peace, special soul.
My grandma was at the nursing center for many years, we always enjoyed the many garden decorations. We did not know Mike but we really enjoyed his creativity with the decorations and gardens. Rest in peace. Karen K

God-bless the Mike Lacey family, I’ve known Mike for a long time. We were a 7th District family. I had recently visited Maryland months ago, saw Mike at Murphys store in Avenue. Told him I now live in Clover South Carolina. He didn’t realize I had moved. Mike was a good friend and neighbor. Sorry to hear of his passing. ✝️🙏
