James “Billy” William Morgan, 62 of California, MD passed away on December 10, 2014 in Hollywood, MD. Born January 2, 1952 in Leonardtown, MD. He was the son of the late Cecelia Hope Morgan and Lewis Matthew Morgan Sr. Billy was the loving husband of Debra Lynn Morgan whom he married on August 11, 2006 in Leonardtown, MD, also survived by his children; John (Wendy) Morgan of North Beach, MD, Wendy (Adam) Alls of California, MD, Jessie Morgan of Leonardtown, MD, Ashley N. Morgan of California, MD, Raymond (Wanda) Mercure of Scotland, MD and Michael (Alicia) Mercure of Hughesville, MD, siblings, Lewis Morgan, Jr. of Mechanicsville, MD Calvin Morgan of Hollywood, MD, Charles Morgan of Lusby, MD, Bobby Morgan, of California, MD, Joseph Morgan of Mechanicsville, MD, Andy Morgan of Tennessee and Donna Rae Abell of Leonardtown, MD, and 4 grandchildren. Billy graduated from Great Mills high school in 1969. He was a Lead Equipment Operator for SMECO for 30 years. Billy enjoyed hunting, horseshoes, playing cards, camping and fishing the Dallas Cowboys and NASCAR, he volunteered his time working bingo at HVFD carnival every year, and really enjoyed time with his family and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 5:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, Leonardtown, MD. A funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 10:00Am in the funeral home chapel with Father Raymond Schmidt officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be; Mouse Carter, Ellis Gibson, Lonnie Stewart, Kila Mills, Jeff Raley, Ron Vause, David Lindsey and Jimmy Herbert. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Mary’s and/or Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department.
