John Franklin Mattingly

Services: Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 13,2004 at 12 Noon in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, Maryland Visitation: Public Viewing will be on Sunday, December 12 from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Prayer Service will be held at 3:00 PM John Franklin "Frank" Mattingly, Jr., 70, of Leonardtown, MD died December 10, 2004 in St. Mary's Hospital. Born June 11, 1934 in Hollywood, MD, he was the son of the late Annie Elizabeth Jones and John Franklin Mattingly, Sr. He was the devoted husband of Mary Lou McGee Mattingly whom he married on July 18, 1959 in St. John's Church, Hollywood, MD. He is also survived by his son, John Franklin Mattingly, III of Leonardtown, MD and his sisters, Betty Shepherd and Jane Hayden both of Leonardtown, MD and his brother,William E. "Tojo" Mattingly of Lexington Park, MD. Mr. Mattingly was a life-long resident of St. Mary's County and attended St. Mary's Academy. He worked on Hopkins Park Farm where he applied his knowledge in the Farming/Agricultural Field with much success. The family will receive friends on Sunday,December 12, 2004 from 2-5 PM in Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown. Prayers will be said at 3:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated December 13, 2004 in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Leonardtown with Reverend Rory Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Matt Shepherd, Steve McGee, Richie Huseman, Jim Hayden, Ronny McGee and Francis "Boots" Garner.
