Resided in: Coltons Point, Maryland

John G. McWilliams, Jr. (“Jack”), of Coltons Point, Maryland, passed away September 30, 2026, at his home.  Born November 28, 1936, he was the son of John George McWilliams, Sr. and Mary Edna Gass McWilliams.  He leaves behind his beloved wife of 68 years, JoAnn; his three children, John G. McWilliams, III, Caralyn McWilliams Sullivan, and Joseph Patrick McWilliams; their spouses and families; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and an extended family of relatives and friends.

Together, he and JoAnn built a family and a life centered on family, commitment, hard work, food, and devotion to one another. Their marriage can only be described as one for the ages, reflecting the steady care, loyalty, and companionship that shaped the home they created together.

As a young man, Jack served in the United States Navy Reserve, beginning a lifetime characterized by responsibility, service and dedication.  Following his military service, he built a successful career in banking earning the respect of those who worked with him and knew him professionally.  But the titles he held professionally were never the most important ones. Husband, Dad, Grandfather/ “Pop”, Great-grandfather/ “Pop Pop” – these were the roles through which his life will be remembered most.

For his family, his passing marks the end of an era, but his influence will always remain. The lessons he taught, the family he helped build, and the memories created over a lifetime will continue through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the generations still to come. His stories will be told time and again and his memory will remain vibrant in the hearts of those he loved.

His steady, calm, and happy presence will be so profoundly missed, but the overflowing love and example he shared will remain a lasting part of our lives. May he rest in peace knowing his family celebrates his life with the utmost respect and love.
