Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 12:30 PM in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with Fr. John Mattingly officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Monday, May 8, 2006 from 5 - 8 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with prayers being said at 7:00 PM. John Phillip "Jack" Lange, 91, of Leonardtown, MD formerly of Baltimore, MD died May 5, 2006 in Leonardtown, MD. Born October 23, 1914 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late John Adam and Clara Frick Lange. He was the loving husband of Phyllis Kirtley Lange whom he married in Towson, MD on February 16, 1946. He is survived by his children Pauline Lange Hayward of Alexandria, VA and Virginia Lange Kulajian of Westminster, CA; brother Robert and his wife Patricia Lange both of Fort Myers, FL; 3 grandchildren: Jacob Lange, Jennifer Moore and Clara Hayward; 2 great-grandchildren: Little Jack Lange and Alissa Robin Lange. He was preceded in death by his son Robert St. Clair Lange; brothers and sisters Charles Lange, Elizabeth Lange, William Lange, Paul Lange and Albert Lange. Mr. Lange moved to St. Mary's County in May 1978 from McLean, VA. He was a graduate of Polytechnic of Baltimore, MD and George Washington University. He was employed as an aeronautical engineer for the U.S. Government, Navy Department (Civil Service). He also served in the U.S. Navy during World World II and the Korean War. He enjoyed oil painting pictures, bicycling, traveling and belonged to NARFE. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 8, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, with prayers being said at 7:00 PM.
