Stevie was a highly admired member of the Seventh District community. Stevie was well known as a jack of all trades, from owning his own business, Lacey’s Plumbing and Heating, to painting and repairing statues, crabbing, cooking, or fixing anything for anyone in need. Anyone who knew Stevie had only great things to say about him and his devoted heart. Stevie had several grand, great grand, and even great great grandchildren that he loved with all his heart, and to all his family, he was always Pop or Pop Lacey. As a devoted family man, he enjoyed having all the family over for gatherings and dinner every chance he could. The food prepared by him and his wife Louise was nothing short of delicious, especially their famous stuffed ham. In addition to helping family and friend, Stevie was a devoted catholic. He regularly assisted Holy Angels Catholic Church with community dinners, plumbing repairs, cutting grass and so much more.
This man was a blessing to all he encountered and truly admired by all. You will be forever loved and truly missed, but we know you are holding your wife in your arms once again and are at peace. Continue to watch over us all, Pop Lacey.

  7. There are people that come into your life that leave a huge impact on you and that’s most definitely what Stevie has done to us. There certainly are very special people on this earth and lord knows, he was one of them!! From the day we first met Stevie, he welcomed us with opens arms, made us feel right at home and treated us just like family. If we didn’t come over to get a bowl of Louis famous soup when he called, he would keep calling or deliver the food himself 🙂 Stevie was the epitome of the most hardworking, honest, dedicated and kind hearted man that we have ever known. We thank god for blessing our lives with Stevie and Louis when he did. There are no words to describe just how well they treated us and how much they truly meant to us and how grateful we are for them. The memories and relationship we built with Stevie while living beside him during these last 6 (short) years, will forever be a relationship and memory that will go down as our favorite in life that we will cherish and hold in our hearts always! They were “home” to us and he was certainly the type of man who made you want to be a better person! We could go on and on about how wonderful he was to us and how much we thought of him but we would still feel that it’s not enough. Not only did Stevie treat us like family but he taught us the true meaning of happiness is family and friends.
We will miss seeing him wave from the porch across the driveway or simply being outside every day hard at work on another project. We find comfort in knowing that he is reunited with the love of his life and his daughter Pat. Our love and prayers go out to Stevie’s family. We will carry him with us in our hearts until we meet again.
    Love, Kevin and Kelsey
