Services: A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 2:00 PM in First United Methodist Church Lexington Park, MD with Rev. Doug Hayes officiating. Interment will be private. John “Dutch” Theodore Haas, 71 of St. Mary’s County, formerly of Washington, DC died January 24, 2014 at Bay Ridge Care Center, Annapolis, MD. Born October 28, 1942 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Violet Helen Riddle Haas and Joseph William Haas, Sr. Dutch is survived by his siblings; Joan Ann McDonald (Barry L. McDonald deceased) of Leonardtown, MD, James Albert (Valli) Haas of Springfield, VA, and Virginia “Ginger” T. (Bob) Cope of Vienna, VA, also survived by his nieces and nephews, Darlene (Donnie) Peavy of Jacksonville, FL, Ralph A. (Mary) Tawney, Jr. of Leonardtown, MD, James (Cecilia) Tawney of Lexington Park, MD, and Melinda L. Phillippi of California, MD. In addition to his parents “Dutch” was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph William Haas, Jr. “Dutch” enjoyed playing bingo, drums, and the guitar; he was a happy person who loved everyone.
