Jordan Danielle Tinsley, 22, of Valley Lee, MD passed away August 22, 2015 in Lexington Park, MD. Born on October 5, 1992 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of John Andrew Tinsley and Judith Ellen Long Tinsley. She is survived by her brother, Andrew Tinsley, wife Emilee, and niece Lily, of 29 Palms, CA, sister, Meghan O’Connor and husband Garran O’Connor of Tall Timbers, MD, and brother, Cole Tinsley of Valley Lee, MD. She is also survived by her Aunts Betty Vaughan of Burley, WA, Peggy Bertotti of Leesburg, GA, Pam Lowe of Wetumpka, AL, Johanna Long Albert, and Heather Long of Hollywood, MD; Uncles Michael Long of Hollywood, MD, Chris Tinsley of Valley Lee, MD, Jim Lowe of Wetumpka, AL, Uncle Ron and Donna Tinsley of Missouri, Uncle Joe, Aunt Theresa, and Aunt Kristol Tinsley of Mechanicsville, and Great Aunt Joan Turgeau of Louisiana. Grandparents Nancy Tinsley of Lusby, MD, and Ron and Pat Tinsley of Mechanicsville, MD, her Great Aunt Dorothy Bodoff of NY, and Great Uncle Marty McCarter and Great Aunt Carol McCarter of Lusby, MD and many cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents John and Nancy Long. Jordan graduated from Leonardtown High School in 2010. She attended the James A. Forrest Technology Center receiving a Certificate of Excellence in Culinary Arts. She was member of the St. Georges Episcopal Church in Valley Lee, MD where she served as an acolyte. Jordan continued her education at the College of Southern Maryland and also worked for the St. Mary’s County Board of Education. For those who were blessed to have known Jordan, she always had a kind word and a smile for everyone and befriended everyone she met. She loved the beach, boating, fishing and her beloved Dallas Cowboys and spending time with her family. Her generosity showed no bounds. There were no strangers only friends and you felt the warmth of her heart in her presence. Jordan will be remembered as a sweet, loving, funny, silly, happy, joyful woman and her light will continue to shine by those that knew and loved her. The family will receive friends to celebrate Jordan’s life on Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM with prayers recited at 7:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:00 PM in St. Georges Episcopal Church, in Valley Lee, MD, with Father Gregory Syler officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Andrew Tinsley, Christopher Tinsley, Joseph Tinsley, Michael Long, Jody Yeatman and Garran O’Connor. Honorary Pallbearer is Cole Tinsley. Contributions may be made to St, Georges Episcopal Church, 19167 Poplar Hill Lane, Valley Lee, MD 20692.

She always had a joke and was so friendly. We ran into each other time to time and the most recent one she recognized me. We caught up for a while and that was a nice.
