Joseph Alexander "Joeboy" Stone, Sr.

Joseph Alexander Stone, “Joeboy” 63, of California, MD passed away on January 30, 2018 with his family by his side.
Joeboy was born on May 23, 1954 in Leonardtown, MD. He was the son of Earl & Hilda Stone. He is preceded in death by his parents and son Joseph Alexander Stone, II “Al”.
Joeboy is survived by his wife of 24 years Carole Ann Stone. His brother, Dickie Stone and wife Faye of Park Hall, MD. His children Sheri & Troy Knott, Teri & Steve Topolski, Dawn & Chris Wilson, Sean & Dawn Stickell, Lynn & Frankie Riffle, his nieces and nephew Linda & Joey Tippett, Ritchie Stone and Cindy Stone, 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren along with several great nieces and nephews.
Joeboy was employed at the Architect of the Capital D.C. Government for several years. He later was self-employed as a commercial watermen doing what he loved spending time on the water on the Al Lynn and Honey Don’t. He was a member of the Waterman’s Association of Calvert and board member of St. Mary’s Association. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and restoring boats and antique trucks.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Hospice staff, Chesapeake Radiation and the Cancer Care Center for the kind and respectful care they provided him during his illness and his last weeks of life.
Friends will be received to celebrate the life of Joeboy on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5-8 p.m. at Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home in Leonardtown, MD where prayers will be recited at 7:00PM. Burial will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 10:00am at Mattingly-Gardiner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Charles Memorial Gardens in Leonardtown, MD. Pallbearers will be; Tyler Higgs, Kyle Stickell, Nathan Stickell, Justin Despres, Frankie Rifle, and Kenny Lambert.
In lieu of flowers the family would donations to be made to the Waterman’s Association 1805 A. Virginia Street Annapolis, MD 21401 and the American Cancer Society P.O. Box 22478 Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
