  1. To Janice, Cindy and Steph: Joe is resting in peace and pain free now. He was a wonderful person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Your family will remain in our prayers. Love you guys.

  2. I first met “Joe Dokes” when I was about 10 years old. He helped my dad and uncle with a tobacco crop. My uncle knew him and he just showed up to lend a hand and for a number of years “good ol Joe Dokes” would just come help during cutting tobacco time. Through the years I would see him at church, funerals, here and there. Always the same, a good man. The last years have not sounded easy and knowing he’s at rest I hope brings comfort to his family. Heaven has definitely gained another a solid and good man. Prayers to his family.
