Josephine Louise Hill of Baltimore, MD passed away on March 16, 2015. Born February 10, 1942 in Leonardtown, MD, she was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Hill, who was killed in WWII in Belgium, the late Louise “Weedie” Parlett Gardiner and step-daughter of the late Adrian Posey Gardiner, Jr.; loving sister of Donna M. (Paul) Haigley of Annapolis, MD, Stephen J. (Debbie) Gardiner of Marydel, MD, Michael K. (Brenda) Gardiner, Sr. of Clements, MD, and Deborah L. (Ronald) Friedrich of LaPlata, MD, also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. In addition to her parents Josephine was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda A. Dodd and her brother Lawrence A. Gardiner, Sr.
Josephine graduated in 1959 from Trinity Preparatory School in Ilchester, MD and from St. Joseph’s College in Emmittsburg, MD in 1963; she also graduated from Mother Catherine Spalding College, Louisville, KY where she received a double Master’s Degree in Social Work, and Hospital Administration. She had a devoted career as a former Administrator of the Children’s Home, Catonsville, MD for approximately 20 years.
Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Sterling Ashton Schwab Witzke Funeral home of Catonsville, 1630 Edmondson Ave., Catonsville, MD 21228 on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM with prayers recited at 7:00PM.A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 10:00AM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suitland, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to the Catonsville Senior Center, 501 N. Rolling Rd., Catonsville, MD 21228
