Services: A Funeral Service will be held in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel at 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 30, 2006 with Fr. Bob Kosty officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home. Joyce Ann Sydnor, 67, of Mechanicsville, MD died November 26, 2006 in Southern Maryland Hospital, Clinton, MD. Born August 13, 1939 in Washington, DC she was the daughter of Raymond and Lilly Gertrude Snelling Stricklin. She leaves behind her devoted, loving husband Melvin Sydnor whom she married on December 26, 1962; three children: Bob Sydnor of Chantilly, VA, Deb Settle of Mechanicsville, MD and Melvin Sydnor, Jr. of Winchester, VA and five grandchildren: Kara, Matthew, Nicole, Kasey and Dalton. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and had a special way of making people laugh. She loved animals especially her dog Tutu. She worked for many years in the cafeteria at Oakville Elementary School until her retirement in 2005. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 from 5:00 â?? 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home.
