  16. I am deeply saddened by Juanita’s passing. She was my research adviser, mentor and my mothers shoulder to lean on. Juanita was more than just a friend, she was family. With her easy going nature and gracious southern charm, she put us at ease and smoothed out any difficulties we may have faced. Juanita’s friendliness and fun loving ways are reflected in the Gass Family. I want to thank all of you for sharing Juanita with all of us, for so many years. We can find some comfort, knowing Juanita is at peace in the the arms of our Lord.

May God bless and protect all of you.

  17. Bob & Sue (Calvelage) Rohn says:

    Dear Dick and Family,
It was with great sorrow to learn of Juanita’s passing. Juanita was a wonderful, genuine, witty and charming lady and became a precious friend and neighbor of the Calvelage Family here in Scottsdale, Arizona. Juanita and Dick & family were great friends to our entire family and especially to my Mother and Father, Loretta and Bob, who have passed before her. The friendship, travels, parties, laughter and fond memories meant so much to them and all of us. They truly enjoyed their visits to Maryland and your visits with them here. Juanita was an angel on earth when she decided to compile the “Family Tree” for them. Her unending desire to finish this tribute, she so strongly endured, was her last gift to them. She is an angel in heaven now and we will keep her memory alive and forever in our hearts. She is now embraced in the arms of the Lord.
    Peace, Prayers and Blessings.

  18. Juanita was so special to me, being friends for 58 years brought us close together. We met in 1957 when she was pregnant with her first child and I with my second. We spent many a day together, I often told her that we felt like sisters. I will miss her dearly and hold on to all our memories. To Dick, Chris, Beth, Andy (Bill) and Linda I love you each and pray for true comfort as you all face this tragic loss. God Bless you all.
