  1. Steve and Karen Hoopengardner says:

Juanita Modlin was a wonderful and kind lady. She was quick to give a compliment and say something kind to anyone who helped her. Juanita loved to go to church as she really enjoyed being part of the congregation and hearing the message and singing.
After church she loved to go out to lunch with family and friends. And you could count on her suggesting for all of us go to McDonald’s for ice cream and insisted the treat was on her.

  2. Juanita Thompson Modlin has a very special place in my heart. I was blessed to have lived on the Briscoe Thompson farm at the same time that Juanita was a vivacious young woman working at the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. She had lots of pretty dresses hanging in her room and she always looked beautiful. I greatly anticipated her return from work in the evenings. It was clear that I was a little “pest”! (smile). She was always busy. In the summertime she spent time after work mowing the grass with one of those (now extinct) mowers that you pushed. The sound of the mower was pleasant and the green grass perfumed the air. Then she would rake all of that grass. Many evenings she would dress up and her future husband, Ernie Modlin, would arrive in his convertible to take her out for the evening. They were quite glamorous. Juanita was a beautiful, kind, sweet, caring Christian lady. She had a wonderful sense of humor as well and she loved music. I will miss her. I honor her and love her. Shirley Fowler Hutchison

  3. I am so saddened by the loss of Juanita. It was my pleasure to know and take care of her. She definitely holds a special place in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
