Services: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 10, 2008 at 10:00 AM in St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Leonardtown, MD with Fr. Thomas LaHood officiating. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Visitation: Viewing/Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 6:30 PM. Kathleen “Kitty” Brown Hayden, 91, of Leonardtown, MD died April 7, 2008 at St. Mary’s Nursing Center. Born March 10, 1917 on St. George’s Island, MD she was the daughter of the late Joseph Bennett and Frances Ruth Potter Brown. She was the loving wife of James B. Hayden, Jr. whom she married on August 17, 1935 and who preceded her in death on April 24, 1977. She is survived by her children: Allan J. Hayden and his wife Jane and Frances H. Long and her husband Buddy all of Leonardtown, MD, James B. Hayden, III and his wife Brenda of Whitsett, NC and Cheryl E. Raymond and her husband Don of Lexington Park, MD; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mabel B. Simpkins. Kitty was a life long St. Mary’s County resident, where she graduated from Great Mills High School on June 12, 1933. She was employed as a math technician in N.A.S., NATC, Patuxent River, MD for 27 years until her retirement on March 19, 1982. She enjoyed playing bridge and crocheting. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home, where Prayers will be said at 6:30 PM. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Buddy Long, Jr., Jeff Lacey, Jim Raley, Jimmie Poe, Jim Hayden and James Hayden. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Brandon Daye, Daniel Jarboe, Nicole Jarboe, Cody Jarboe, Sean Wood and Bryan Wood. Contributions may be made to: Leonardtown Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 50, Leonardtown, MD 20650 and/or Leonardtown Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 299, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
