Kimberly Ann "Kim" Wayland

Kimberly “Kim”, Ann Wayland, 57, of Leonardtown, MD passed away on November 22nd. Kim was a graduate of West Virginia University, where she received both B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering. For the last thirty years, she has worked for the Navy on projects involving communication and radar systems. Her Nay career began in 1983 at the Naval Air Development Center in Warminster, PA. In 1996, Kim moved to southern Maryland and began working at the Patuxent River Navy Base. At her death, Kim was the Antenna Systems Chief Engineer of the Radar and Antenna Systems Division at Patuxent River. Kim is survived by her husband, Richard, her two sons Robert and Mike, all of Leonardtown, MD, Father Carlyn Freeland and brother Chris Freeland both of Chattanooga, TN. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 10:00AM – 11:00 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Leonardtown, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Paul Goodwin officiating. Interment will be private.
