kurt wilson
We honor the life of Kurt Edgar Wilson, a remarkable person whose passion and love for others was unmatched. Born on September 21, 1973, in Joliet, Illinois, Kurt lived a life defined by service, devotion to family, and a deep love for his country. He passed away on March 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and cherished memories for all who knew him. Kurt served as a Naval Flight Officer in the United States Navy, flying aboard the P-3 Orion as a Tactical Coordinator (TACCO). Over the course of 20 years of dedicated service, he demonstrated unwavering commitment to his mission, his fellow service members, and the country he loved. He retired in 2016 with great pride in his service and the bonds he formed along the way. Following his military career, Kurt continued supporting the mission he believed in, working for the past 10 years as a contractor supporting the P-8 Poseidon. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Kurt was known for his warm spirit, generous heart, humility, and the joy he brought to those around him. He loved traveling, testing his knowledge with trivia, and spending quality time with the people he cared about most. An animal lover at heart, he had a special affection for his beloved beagles, Tater and Chip. Above all else, Kurt treasured his faith in God and his family; who were the center of his world and the greatest source of his pride and happiness. Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Kurt was wonderful nephew who brought us many happy memories. His thoughtful and caring nature was always present. We had the privilege of being his aunt and uncle. Very sorry for your loss.

  2. Our sincere sympathy from The Chabak family… we have many fond memories of you all as part of our Valley View PA neighborhood ❤️‍🩹🌈

  3. Sprout,

You are missed. I am thankful for the great memories we had flying together. Whether it was beer die in the Fly Trap, using your Palm Pilot to play Drug Wars until you dropped it in the toilet!, sticking my finger in your eye to find your contact lens, swimming to that island in Crete with no shoes, giving you any mushrooms that ended up on my sandwich, walking up to an ACTIVE VOLCANO, sims, dets, and actually flying on deployment.

Words cannot convey how much you were a part of everyone’s life. I am thankfully and honored to have known and flown with you. My heart goes out to Jennifer, Brady, Graham, and the rest of your family. Rest easy. CAC-9 has the Watch.

  4. I remember Kurt moving to Minnesota and how he instantly connected with band, soccer and other groups in Apple Valley. Great memories of BWCA trips, hanging out with friends and traveling to his wedding. Condolences to Jen and the rest of the family.
(It might not be obvious, but the one photo is of Curt doing a front flip into Horseshoe Lake in the BWCA)

  5. Served with Kurt in VP-69. Honored to have served with him and blessed to have known him as a friend. Rest well shipmate! – Mark Thonen
